How to find the first word to start your writing

Writing as we know it is an activity in which a person must produce something from the emptiness that comes to his head. A wise writer is of course required to write in all conditions and situations; anytime and anywhere.

However, in practice, novice writers like me often feel that the hardest thing in their creative process is finding the first word to start a piece of writing, and this kind of assumption will only result in a decrease in their productivity because to start with they are already facing a wall of impasse that was so towering. That’s why they have to throw away the perception that to start writing, they have to find something special so that their writing is interesting for the reader.

Because in fact to start writing we do not have to find something special first, but enough to just start it. As many writers out there believe, that two attitudes must be distinguished by someone when he wants to write, namely the attitude of being an editor and the attitude of being a narrator. The attitude as an editor as we know it is to edit and beautify his work, while the attitude as a narrator is to tell stories and finish the story.

These two attitudes must be fully realized by any novice writer, that when they are writing their attitude as an editor must be isolated because writing must be completed first and then edited or embellished in such a way as to become a complete work.

Although there are so many “critics” out there who often glorify the statement that the first paragraph must be interesting, it is not a standard that we must achieve when we want to start writing, because if we only stick to the assumption that the first paragraph was written as attractive as possible, then all will simply fail before even starting anything.

I think that the statement of the first paragraph must be interesting is a perception that should be thrown away by anyone who calls himself a writer. An interesting first paragraph is not unnecessary, it’s just that to make a stunning first paragraph will drain extra stamina, so to write the next paragraph we are tired or we may have lost the enthusiasm to write.

Writing an interesting first paragraph is indeed important, but what is even more important is completing our entire writing. We are free to write whatever and from wherever we want, because in the end all writings will be edited again, and if it is still difficult to start as free as possible, then just throw away the ambition to become a writer, look for it. another job that promises a more prosperous life. Because a writer nowadays needs to work more extra than anyone else involved in this industry.

For me, writing a poem and enjoying the process of it is one way to appreciate the language itself.
